Interconnect Cost Reduction and Reliability Improvement
Methode was tasked with replacing an unreliable PCB-to-PCB jumper-wire interconnect with a reliable connector.
Our team of engineers designed a right-angle, low-profile connector using reliable RK contacts.
Our customer’s existing PCB-to-PCB interconnect design relied on jumper wires and crimped lug terminals, which proved very labor intensive and unreliable. Standard off-the-shelf connectors would not be suitable replacement due to the limited height.
Methode designed a right-angle connector incorporating 5.7mm RK contacts. The connector lowered the connector voltage drop, reduced the overall power loss and lowered the connector cost.
