Methode was approached to develop a lightweight and portable sensor capable of determining capacity levels on medical fluid bags, for use by individual patients.
Our team developed a small, semi-disposable sensor that could be secured to the side of a medical bag, and would communicate to the patient when capacity was being reached via sensory cues.
Patients lacking incontinence control expressed the need to be notified when bags were nearing full capacity. Our sensor team designed semi-disposable, through-wall fluid detection sensors that use field-effect technology to determine when liquid levels reach a critical point and alert users. The design includes stylish user interface controls with both audible and visual alerts, increasing patient confidence and comfort, along with quality of life.
