Single Conductor

Methode has established aluminum as a viable option for bus bar construction. Lighter and more cost-efficient, aluminum offers approximately half of the conductivity of copper with comparable functionality. Methode works with you to design and develop the most effective copper alloy or aluminum bus bars based on performance, weight and cost criteria specific to your requirements. With a variety of plating options and in-house metal fabrication processes, including punching, stamping with dies, machining and wire EDM, manufacturing can take place in any one of our three global sites to meet your needs.

Customization

Single Conductor Laminated Bus Bar

To increase current capacity and reduce internal system temperature rise, Methode developed a Bus Bar complete with discrete single conductors and laminated polyester insulation. Offering flexibility of design, the single conductor Bus Bars are customizable to meet the customer’s size specifications.

How We Customize

Plating and insulation options can be specified based on the application requirements. Bus bars can be manufactured in aluminum when weight is critical and machined when tight tolerances is essential. Powder coating can be applied to insulate any shape and/or to provide color-coding.

Flexible Laminated Single Circuit Bus Bar

With Kapton® insulation and flexible sleeving to meet temperature and out-gassing requirements, the single circuit bus bars are built to withstand the intense pressure and temperatures of space. Utilized in the battery charging and discharging unit in the International Space Station, our bus bar products meet NASA standards for use in space.

Single Conductor Machined Bus Bar

The single conductor is board-mount and blind-mate capable for drawer connections to the backplane. The louvered interconnection has low voltage drop and the UL-approved powder coating conforms to the conductor shape to provide dielectric insulation.
