EXTREME Heavy Copper PCBsUPE's EXTREME Heavy Copper PCBs contain copper tracks or features with a minimum deposition of 20 oz./sq. foot. Our latest process innovations allow copper features up to 200 oz./sq. foot (0.280 in./7.1mm). We have also developed a process to provide heavy copper, up to 19 oz./sq. foot (0.0226 in./0.675mm), in the plated through-holes and vias. These processes allow EXTREME Copper PCBs to carry in excess of 1000A, depending on conductor width and permitted temperature rise. The two technologies permit us to recommend a variety of design concepts to carry large current values from layer to layer, as well as making external connections.
AttributesCustom SolutionsSelect the copper weights, layer count and type of connection to fit your application specifications. Power DensitySignificantly increases power density versus standard PCB technology. Mechanically RobustOur PCBs are capable of handling high-torque connections. Case Studies & TestimonialsThe Development of Extreme Copper TechnologyA defense client required very high-current values on a board containing small surface-mount devices installed near semiconductor power connections, and the amperage for the application was too high for heavy copper. You Might Also ConsiderBus BarsMethode can design and create bus bars using a variety of materials, insulation and plating to meet your exact needs. Power CablingMethode offers power cabling products that are flexible, compact and durable enough to withstand repetitive motion. |
